Dad came to visit

Dad visited me at MOFA the other day. We had a short lunch, talked for a while, and he even got to see my boss: Unit Chief, Mr. Philip C. Y. Huang.

He blogged right away that evening with this blog: "Brief talk with Steven at Ministry of Foreign Affairs". The blog includes two photos of me in uniform, so I bet you guys would love to see it! Wow, is he efficient or not!

Although, I haven't had the chance to say it, Dad's visit really meant a lot to me. I was having a hard time during the first few days, and his visit really made a difference. So I want to thank him now. Thanks Dad!!

First day at work...

Well, I'd love to tell everybody about it, but I'm just too tired to write right now--writing just to tell everyone that I'm still here. I'll save it for some other day. Also, there's something wrong with my cell phone. Callers may hear the ringing when they call, but my phone doesn't show any phone calls. I guess I might be missing tons of calls. Sorry guys! I'll try to fix it soon.

MOFA training almost over

Training ends on Friday, and hopefully I get to know which division (in MOFA) I'm working at tomorrow or the day after that. I filled in Department of North American Affairs and a few others on my wish list, so we'll see how that goes.

Also, I updated my CV, which adds my job at MOFA to my experience.

Training

Currently, I'm under MOFA's(Ministry of Foreign Affairs) professional training program, which during its two week secession, will equip me with the abilities required for my future service at MOFA(serving from Sep. 2008~ July 2009).

My service is an alternative to the regular military service we are all familiar with, and can be translated as Civil or Public Services. Having the opportunity to combine my expertise with actual working experience and at the same time fulfilling my duty of serving the country is exciting and beneficial.

In addition, I get to use computers everyday now, so reaching me will be much easier!
